We are an active group catering for the over 55's in the Sorrento Portsea area.
We pride ourselves on being a caring group that looks after the well-being of our members.

We welcome all to the club this year. At the AGM on the 8th August 2025, a motion was passed to increase annual membership to $20.00
Club members should now pay their annual membership fee for the 25-26 financial year if they have not already done so.
Our next AGM is on Friday, 10th July at 1:30. After the short meeting, we will have a foot-tapping musical afternoon provided by The Herberts. This group play iconic music from the 60's. See the information below.
Potential new activities include an exercise group for men following the successful women's group and a music jamming group. Anyone interested in these new activities is invited to contact the Secretary

Fundraising for the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club
The Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club are funraising to rebuild their clubhouse.
In October and November last year, our members hosted a 'Mad Hatter's tea party' along with an art, craft, and photography exhibition where artworks, crafts, and paintings were sold, with all proceeds going to the Sorrent SLSC.
We were pleased to report that these events raised $4,185.52.
The photograph shows some of our members meeting with the Sorrento SLSC committee at a brief function where our efforts were acknowledged.
Our thanks go to the many people involved in these events, as they demonstrate our support for the broader Sorrento Portsea communities.
A musical afternoon with The Herberts
The Herberts will be playing at the centre between 2:00 and 5:00 pm on the 10th July.
The Herberts are Australia's premier 1960s rock and pop band, delivering an electrifying performance that transports audiences back to this vibrant era of British music.
This ensemble of talented musicians is renowned for performances that blend high-energy dancing with audience sing-alongs.
The Herberts authentically recreate the look and sound of the 60s, ensuring a visually captivating experience with a repertoire that features classic hits from the period.
Light refreshments and finger food will be served. Unfortunately, alcohol cannot be brought to this event.
Club members and their friends can purchase tickets for $15.00 each from group leaders or the Secretary (secretary@sorrentoactivitycentre.org).

Craft
Mondays, 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Join the group to make quilts and other gifts for children in the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne
Mah-jong
Mondays, 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Learn to play or become an expert in our group. Everyone is welcome
Exercises sessions
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 to 11:30 am. Come any enjoy exercising with a very friendly group. We have a cup of coffee afterwards and a good chat
Afternoon movies
The last Tuesday of the month, 1:00 pm to 4:00pm. We show a ‘surprise’ movie to suit all ages. This is followed by a scrumptious afternoon tea.
Art
Wednesdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm. It does not matter what your artistic skills are like, if you like to paint, then come along and try. We have some very experienced artists who are keen to help
Photography
Second Wednesdays in the month, 4:40 to 6:00pm. We are a relatively small group but would be pleased to have new members. Whether you use a digital SLR or the camera in your phone, you would be most welcome.
Memoir writing
Thursdays, 2:00 to 3:30pm. A new group that is looking for new members. Come and give it a try
